Inspiration: The Great Gatsby

I have finished my first week of my spring semester and one very good thing has come out of it.  My literature teacher has assigned us to read one of my favorite books, The Great Gatsby.  I have read the book before, but in recent years I have begun to realize what an important piece of inspiration this is for the fashion industry and will be taking notice of the fashion this time around.  And this is perfect timing considering how 1920's inspiration dominated the spring runways, and has even flowed into the pre-fall collections.  And while I would love to read the beautiful gold covered Penguin Classic, but I could never write notes in it!  I have fallen in love with Marchesa's spring collection and would love to wear that beautiful white dress, which was seen on Lea Michelle at the People's Choice Awards.  And did you notice that I slipped a picture of the new Great Gatsby movie in with the others?  I am so excited for the new film, which hits theaters on December 25th.  The cast includes Leonardo DiCaprio, Carrey Mulligan, Tobey Maguire, Isla Fisher and model Gemma Ward.  And even better than the cast?  The jewelry has been supplied by Tiffany & Co.!  What do you all think of the 1920's trend?  What pieces would you wear?
