I have to share my new favorite television show with all of you, Downton Abbey. There are so many things to love about this show: the history, the drama, the location, and most importantly the costumes of course. These pictures do not do the beautiful costuming justice. The costume designers Susannah Buxton and Rosalind Ebbutt are the minds behind the costumes, one third of which are made from scratch for the show.
The show is intelligent, scandalous, and riveting. Downton Abbey is the home in which the wealthy Grantham family lives with their many employees, who have dramatic plots of their own. The timing of the show is interesting, one episode can have jumps of weeks or months at a time. The first season, which was only seven episodes, was spread across two years. While a little confusing at time, the pace keeps things interesting.
Much of the show is filmed in the stunning home, but my favorite scenes are the ones filmed in the village. While much less glamorous, it is often filmed in the small English town where my Grandmother lived until she came to America as an adult! So this may not be a draw for any of you, but it is fun for me to watch.

Il ya tellement de choses à aimer dans ce spectacle: l'histoire, le drame, l'emplacement, et surtout les costumes bien sûr. Ces photos ne font pas la justice des costumes magnifiques. Les créateurs de costumes Suzanne Buxton et Rosalind Ebbutt sont les esprits derrière les costumes, dont un tiers sont faites à partir de zéro pour le spectacle.
Le spectacle est intelligent, scandaleux, et le rivetage. Downton Abbey est la maison dans laquelle la riche famille Grantham vie avec leurs nombreux employés, qui ont intrigues dramatiques de leurs propres. Le timing de l'émission est intéressante, un épisode peut avoir des sauts de plusieurs semaines ou mois à la fois. La première saison, qui n'avait que sept épisodes, a été réparti sur deux ans. Bien qu'un peu déroutant au temps, le rythme rend les choses intéressantes.
Une grande partie de l'émission est filmée à la maison magnifique, mais mes scènes préférées sont celles filmées dans le village. Bien que beaucoup moins glamour, il est souvent filmé dans la petite ville anglaise où ma grand-mère a vécu jusqu'à ce qu'elle vienne à l'Amérique comme un adulte! Donc, ce ne peut être un tirage au sort pour l'un de vous, mais il est amusant pour moi de regarder.
Premier de la nuit dernière a été fantastique et je ne peux pas attendre le prochain épisode! Y at-il de vous fans? S'il vous plaît partagez ce que vous pensez du spectacle, je serais ravi de sentir vos pensées!

I watched the 1st season last year and loved it. I missed the 1st episode of this season. I will have to catch up. My favorite character is Dowager Countess of Grantham. I love her punch lines. If you look on my Twitter feed, there is a link to a quiz that will tell you what character you most resemble. I matched her! LOL Daisy irritates me. Is she in the second season? HAHAHAHA I also like Anna Smith. Will definitely have to catch up. I watched the 10 minute preview of the new season and it looks great! :D
