Beautiful Sketches By Edith Head

Images: alovelybeing.com

Aren't these sketches lovely?  They were drawn by Edith Head when she was designing Grace Kelly's costumes for Rear Window.  They were auctioned off at Christie's for around $13,000!  I am in love with the first sketch, I love how feminine and and ladylike it is with the high neckline and cinched waist.

Erdem Spring 2011 RTW

Images: style.com

There have been some lovely collections shown recently, but none more lovely than the Erdem Spring 2011 RTW collection.  The collection is perfect for spring, plenty of pastel, floral dresses in feminine cuts.  And I love the higher necklines than is usually shown.  The collection reminded me of a modern Grace Kelly, I suggest you check out the entire lovely collection.

What I Would Wear To: Kenya

What I Would Wear To: Kenya

When I think of Africa and safaris, I cannot help but think of Grace Kelly in Mogambo.  Please forgive me for the impracticality of this outfit, but in my dreams this would be the perfect outfit to wear on a safari in Kenya.  The fabric of the dress instantly conjured images of the fabric used for traditional safari jackets and from there I decided to ad an Hèrmes scarf to protect one's face and hair as well as traditional Ray-Ban Wayfarer sunglasses to fight against the African sun and an Hèrmes watch as an accessory, jewelry did not seem appropriate.  What would you wear?

What I Would Wear To: Monte Carlo

What I Would Wear To: Monte Carlo

For this installment of my series What Would I Wear To, I created an outfit for Monte Carlo.  This outfit is inspired by the luxurious local in Monaco and by who else, Grace Kelly.  I really love the neckline of this Lela Rose dress as I do not care for low cut clothing, and it reminded me of Princess Grace.  I also thought she would approve of the pearl jewelry and the Hermes head scarf for drives down the windy coast.  I love the Fendi shoes, mainly because if you look closely the raffia fabric of the shoes has a very similar texture to the dress!  This is what I would want to wear if I ever have the opportunity to visit Monte Carlo, what would you wear?

Monaco Royal Wedding

Image: nymag.com

The Monaco royal wedding of Prince Albert II of Monaco to Charlene Wittstock's took place over two days this weekend on Friday, for the civil ceremony, and Sunday for the religious ceremony.  The bride wore Giorgio Armani not only for her religious ceremony shown above, but for the civil ceremony and reception as well.  In comparison to the recent royal wedding of Kate Middleton, who do you think looked better?

Grace Kelly

The sunglasses, the coat, the pearl bracelets, this picture shows how Grace Kelly really knew how to dress well.  She always chose simplicity over opulence, and dressing like a lady over dressing sexy.

Grace Kelly

Grace Kelly was unbelievably beautiful, elegant, and regal.  She was an extremely beloved actress  and starred in movies such as High Society, To Catch a Thief, and Rear Window.  She was considered American royalty, but eventually became the Queen of Monaco.  She was a fashion icon and Hermes even named a purse after her.
