As with anything relating to Marie Antoinette, I adored Sofia Coppola's film about the ill fated queen, which I previously reviewed.  Unfortunately this lovely Vogue spread about the film came out before I subscribed to the magazine and I always regretted that I never had the issue.  However I can make up for my misfortune by sharing the lovely spread on my blog!  I love how these images are a mix of Marie Antoinette and couture.  I insist that you see the full spread and read all the details of the clothing and locations on Vogue.com!

Comme pour tout ce qui concerne Marie Antoinette  j'ai adoré film de Sofia Coppola sur la reine infortunée, dont j'ai déjà examinés. Malheureusement, cette propagation Vogue belle sur le film est sorti avant je me suis abonné au magazine et j'ai toujours regretté que je n'ai jamais eu ce problème. Cependant, je peux faire pour mon malheur en partageant la propagation belle sur mon blog J'aime la façon dont ces images sont un mélange de Marie-Antoinette et de la couture. Marie Antoinette's Perfume

While many have envied the lifestyle of Marie Antoinette, her extravagant palaces and crown jewels are not exactly attainable for the every-woman.  But now you can have a piece of her beauty regimen, the house of Lubin is reviving a perfume originally worn by Marie Antoinette.  This perfume was created for Antoinette by the royal noose Jean-Louis Fargeon in mind of the gardens at the Petit Trianon.  The scent which consists of rose, jasmine, and bergamot is named Black Jade; like the deep jade colored vile Antoinette kept the perfume in while imprisoned in the Temple Tower of Paris.  What is the cost of smelling like France's most infamous Queen?  130 dollars and you can purchase the scent at aedes.com. 

Book Review: Queen Of Fashion

For those of you who love fashion as well as history, then I have found the perfect combination.  Queen of Fashion, by Caroline Weber, details the extravagant life of Marie Antoinette and her fashion choices.  I found the book very interesting and very detailed in not only aspects of fashion, but the history as well.  I learned a lot about the royal family and the French revolution as well as the extravagant fashion and beauty trends of the time.  While it takes a while to get through the text, I really enjoyed reading this book.  I am always looking for good books to read, which do you recommend?

Pour ceux d'entre vous qui aiment la mode ainsi que l'histoire, alors j'ai trouvé la combinaison parfaite. Reine de la Mode, par Caroline Weber, les détails de la vie extravagante de Marie-Antoinette et ses choix vestimentaires. J'ai trouvé le livre très intéressant et très détaillé dans non seulement les aspects de la mode, mais l'histoire aussi bien. J'ai beaucoup appris au sujet de la famille royale et la Révolution française ainsi que la mode extravagante et les tendances beauté de l'époque. Toutcela prend un moment pour passer à travers le texte, j'ai vraiment apprécié la lecturede ce livre. Je suis toujours en quête de bons livres à lire, qui me conseillez-vous?

Film Review: Marie Antoinette

I find every shot of the film Marie Antoinette directed, produced, and written by Sofia Coppola and staring Kirsten Dunst absolutely stunning. It is like watching a very girly dream filled with pastel dresses, champagne, pastries, sparkly jewels, and most of the film was shot in the palace of Versailles.  From a historical outlook the events in the movie holds very true, aside from the affair which there is no proof of.  And while the costumes clearly aren't accurate, they make the film more interesting in my opinion and represent the feeling of the time.  I would highly recommend this film for any fashion or history buffs.     

Ladurée Has Come To America

I love macaroons and after a disastrous three hour attempt to make them, that my boyfriend will likely never forgive me for, I have a whole new appreciation for these french treats.  Luckily Ladurée, the originator of the modern French macaroon, two cookies sandwiched with ganache, has come to America.  The paistry shop has hit New York and as of now is a very small shop, but they plan to open a traditional tea room in S.O.H.O. eventually. Ladurée sells 15,000 macaroons a day alone, all of which are made in Paris and shipped to various locations overnight.  The Manhattan store is  decorated in the traditional French style and even has French staff.  Does Ladurée's pastries look familiar to you?  They made all of the dessert's for the film Marie Antoinette.  If I ever go to New York, I know where my first stop will be!
