How To Choose The Perfect Wedding Outfit This Summer

Summer is the season of weddings and when you have to buy gifts, pay for accommodation and
establish how you’re getting to and from the wedding venue, the costs can really start to add up.
On top of this, you also need to find the perfect outfit. Nobody wants to be held responsible for
ruining the happy couples’ photo album with an unsightly dress. Thankfully, wedding outfits needn’t
cost a fortune, and, with these helpful tips, you can find the perfect outfit without breaking the
bank.
The Dress
When choosing occassion dresses to wear to a wedding, opt for a neutral shade that will work well
with different accessories. A tope or navy shift dress is ideal and pastel shades, such as mint green
and peach are also great options which are bang on trend for 2012. Make sure you feel comfortable
in whatever dress you choose and try and buy something you can wear again.
The Accessories
Once you’ve chosen your basic dress you need to make it look completely unique by accessorising
carefully. Think about the type of wedding you are attending and pick your accessories accordingly:
Smart weddings: team your shift dress with a matching blazer and choose court shoes, belt and
necklace in a contrasting colour. A fascinator is great if you’re not a fan of hats and will add that
extra touch of glamour.
City weddings: keep your look as subtle as possible with minimal accessories in pale pastels. For a
super stylish, 1950s look, wear with formal gloves that stop at the wrist.
Country wedding: indulge in this year’s floral prints with a floral jacket, cardigan or bolero and team
with colourful shoes and simple jewellery.
Modern wedding: dress your shift dress up with an animal print scarf, clutch bag and shoes. Wear
with oversized shades and a wide brimmed hat for a 70s glam look that will never go out of style.
Wedding after party: if you’re only attending the evening party of a wedding, then dress your outfit
with chunky gold accessories and a gold belt. Give your hair a makeover with an Audrey Hepburn
inspired ‘up’ do and don sky-high heels which will give your legs an instant boost. Don’t forget to
take some matching flats with you to walk home in after a night of dancing and celebrating.
