Elie Saab Again

Image: nymag.com

Once again another Elie Saab dress I really love.  This dress is from the Spring 2011 Couture show and is so so pretty.  I love the fifties style flair skirt and neckline and all the beading and ribbon and sheer fabric is beautiful together.

Pretty Ponytails

I used to hate ponytails but now I really love high curly ponytails.  I think they are clean and pretty looking without having to spend hours of time on your hair or damage it with hot tools.  I think the one in the photo above is absolutely perfect.

Valentino Suit

Image: weheartit.com

There is no outfit more elegant than a classicvsuit, unfortunately they are usually a better fit for women in their forties and older. However this Valentino suit is very youthful and would look perfect on a younger woman.  I especially love the smooth ponytail the model is wearing. I think it complements the dress nicely and looks very clean and pretty.

Ribbons, Pearls, and Jewels

It is hard to make shining pearl or sparkling jewel necklaces any prettier, unless you add grosgrain ribbon to complete them.

Easter Parade

Happy Easter! One of my favorite musicals is "Easter Parade" starring Judy Garland and Fred Astaire.

Grace Kelly

Grace Kelly was unbelievably beautiful, elegant, and regal.  She was an extremely beloved actress  and starred in movies such as High Society, To Catch a Thief, and Rear Window.  She was considered American royalty, but eventually became the Queen of Monaco.  She was a fashion icon and Hermes even named a purse after her.

Film Review: Marie Antoinette

Images: weheartit.com

I find every shot of the film Marie Antoinette directed, produced, and written by Sofia Coppola and staring Kirsten Dunst absolutely stunning. It is like watching a very girly dream filled with pastel dresses, champagne, pastries, sparkly jewels, and most of the film was shot in the palace of Versailles.  From a historical outlook the events in the movie holds very true, aside from the affair which there is no proof of.  And while the costumes clearly aren't accurate, they make the film more interesting in my opinion and represent the feeling of the time.  I would highly recommend this film for any fashion or history buffs.

Perfectly Parisian

At the Pˆtisserie Cador in Paris

"Stepping out in a linen day dress by Christian Dior, a Stephen Jones beret, and Manolo Blahnik shoes, model Audrey Marnay enjoys a treat at Paris's famed salon du thé, Pàtisserie Cador. At her feet, Marnay's elaborately coiffed poodle waits expectantly for a stray tasty tidbit. Arthur Elgort photographed this image which appeared in the March 1999 Vogue." -Conde Nast Store Website

The Greatest Show on Earth

Images: Vogue.com

To me there is nothing more exciting than a new issue of Vogue waiting in the mail box, and I was very excited pleased to see this beautiful spread with Reese Witherspoon photographed by Peter Linbergh. (Aside from the third photograph which was found online.) I am extremely excited to see her new movie, Water for Elephants, as I read the book and could not put it down. The photography is beautiful as are the elegant dresses she wears.

Every woman needs a few classic and easy pieces in her wardrobe: a tailored shirt dress that is easy to throw on, a large structured handbag that can carry everything you need, a comfortable pair of kitten heels in a color you can wear with everything, and simple jewelry pieces such as a pair of pearl studs. And don't forget the sun glasses in a classic shape.
The dress is Halston Heritage, the purse is an Hermes Birkin Bag, the shoes are Jimmy Choo, the sunglasses are Ray Ban, and the jewelry is Tiffany and Co.

Pink Champagne and Macaroons

Image: bonbonrosegirls.com

Isn't this picture pretty?  I usually post photographs, but I could not resist this picture.  Just like I can not resist macaroons!

Update: This post is one of my most viewed and since it is so simple I thought I would update it!  For those of you who are curious about pink champagne, this is how it is made:

Champagne is generally made from four types of grapes, Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay.  All grapes are white on the inside, the color is only on the skin.  Any wine, even red wine, can be made white.  One must simply remove the skin of the grapes and no color would be added to the wine.  Generally when champagne is made they remove the skin off the red grapes, but in order to make pink champagne they simply have to let the skin sit in the liquid for a short while and the champagne becomes pink.  I can not attest to the taste of any champagne as I am still a year away from being 21, but I think if one does like champagne then this would be such a lovely romantic way to drink it!  You can read more about the drink here.

I absolutely love this outfit which is from the Elie Saab Fall 2011 RTW collection.  Although it was designed for fall, I think it's color allows it to be worn all year long.  I think it is perfect for anyone who works in a professional setting, or even perhaps our first woman president...

I really love this Louis Vuitton ad campaign. I think all of the clothes and accessories are gorgeous and I love the retro feel in the styling. The photographs were taken by Mark Segal and the model is Anne Vyalitsyna.
